Faded Memories Blog Tour Wrap Up with a Parade of Buckets and Totes!

Posted by Gerri Robinson on

What a fantastic week we had touring around the different blog sites to see the different designers' Faded Memories creations.   I love to see how other quilters/designers interpret my fabrics; it truly is one of the best parts of designing!

I get to participate too in this fun little tour, not as a creator, but as a "spokesperson" for Penny Sturges of Quilts Illustrated.

Just like all the other participants, Penny graciously said yes to my request to make and create as long as I handled the "social" side; DONE.DEAL!!!

Penny Sturges is best known for her bags and totes.  Bags and totes that are highly functional, stylish with easy to follow and make directions.  Her whole approach to designing bags, totes and now buckets is all from a quilter's perspective.  You won't find any "seamstress" terms in her directions; nope - not a one!

Enough chatter, right.  Let's get to the good stuff . . . . . drum roll please . . . . .

The Seaside Traveler - you can pack and organize this gorgeous girl with just about anything because she has pockets that line the entire interior and stands an impressive 15" tall x 21" wide and 8" deep. She sports a nice long, sturdy strap to hang on your shoulder and she's travel friendly too! (fits nicely under a plane's seat).

The Boxy Tote - was designed to hold and carry your Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine.  I know, right?!

She's strong, sturdy, roomy and has pockets lining the entire interior and exterior and stays open, all on her own, thanks to a metal frame.

She's an impressive 12" tall x 14" long x 11" wide.  If you're a Singer Featherweight owner, you DEFINITELY need to make yourself one!  And if you're not, still make one to hold and carry all your necessities!

Buckets and Bows is a BRAND NEW pattern for Spring Market 2017.  I think its so new that patterns will be released sometime in May.

Cute, cute, cute . . . three sizes, small, medium and large to handle anything you want to toss in there and use them for; perfect functionality!

All the patterns AND hardware can be found on Quilts Illustrated site here and all the fabric can be found on my site here.

If you're joining us for the first time, please stop by all the other designers that showcased their Faded Memories creations by visiting their blogs:

Crystal Delaney of The Clever Quilt Studio

Joan Hawley of Lazy Girl Designs

Susan Guzman of SuzGuz Designs

Jina Barney of Jina Barney Designz

Andy Knowlton of A Bright Corner

Well, that's a wrap!  I hope you enjoyed the tour, discovering a few new pattern designers/makers and new inspiration for your next project.  Thanks for joining us; we appreciate the time you spent with us.

  • Well Lois, what did he/she say? Were you able to leave early? What’s your current project you’re working on? I would love to see pictures!
