What is a MOD-ified Quilt Design You Ask?

Posted by Gerri Robinson on

The dictionary meaning is; to make partial or minor changes to something, typically to improve it or to make it less extreme.

That's exactly what we did with all the quilt designs in my book, Rustic Romance.  As a quick refresher, here are the quilts originally designed in Rustic Romance immediately followed by their MOD-ified version sewn up in Riley Blake Confetti Cotton solids.

The original Rustic Village (64" x 64") in Rustic Romance (above).

The MOD-ified Rustic Village (above) in Riley Blake Confetti Cottons.

The original Haven (60" x 60") in Rustic Romance (above).

The MOD-ified Haven (above) in Riley Blake Confetti Cottons.

The original Journey (60" x 60") in Rustic Romance (above).

The MOD-ified Journey in Riley Blake Confetti Cottons.

The original Unique (60" x 60") in Rustic Romance (above).

The MOD-ified Unique in Riley Blake Confetti Cottons.

For me, the biggest change I see between the original and the MOD-ified is Rustic Village; they almost appear to be two completely different quilts.  What do you think?

Now that you've seen the side by side comparison of the two, what is your preference; the original or MOD-ified?  And do you agree with the dictionary's definition . . . to make partial or minor changes to something, typically to improve it or to make it less extreme.  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Interested in making one of these four designs, head over to my website here to snag yourself the Rustic Romance book! on SALE for $10.00

And if you prefer the MOD-ified version (but you'll still need the book for the construction details), click here for all the details for each of the above designs.

Happy Quilting!!

Gerri
