From Quilts to Table Runners!

Posted by Gerri Robinson on

Remember the (4) quilts from my Rustic Romance Book?

I've received many emails from fellow quilters who absolutely LOVE the designs but have been hesitant to make any of them because of their "perceived" perception of difficulty.

I listened and thought a simple way to approach any one of these designs is in a singular row (since 3 of the 4 designs are sewn in rows vs blocks) and make them into TABLE RUNNERS!!

The first design in the Rustic Romance Book is Rustic Village below:

I totally understand how this design can be intimidating but by sewing a single row like you see below, eliminates a lot of the "fear":

Can you believe its the SAME design?  True story, its Rustic Village!

Haven (shown below) is the second design in the Rustic Romance Book:

Haven (below) is the ONLY design in the book that is constructed and sewn in blocks vs. rows like the other 3 designs.

Journey (below) is the third design in the book.

Not as intimidating as Rustic Village and/or Haven but makes a STUNNING table runner as shown below!

Unique (below) is the last design in the Rustic Romance Book:

Unique, on the surface, appears to be constructed and sewn in blocks but it too is constructed and sewn in a single row.

Making it the PERFECT design to place your centerpiece on!

Intrigued? Any fears you may have had in making any of these designs been dispelled?  Need a little more encouragement?  OK!

Have I wet your appetite to be fearless and make a table runner or 2 or 3, heck why not all 4!  You can see how beautiful they are and there's still time to make up a few just in time for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays!

Imagine how gorgeous they will be in rich fall colors and traditional Christmas colors!  If you make any of these as seasonal table runners, I would LOVE to see pictures!

What do you need to make any one of these table runners?

You'll need the Rustic Romance Book sold HERE!  And I have it on SALE for $10.00!!  Did that get your attention?

You'll need to download the NEW Materials List and Cutting Directions for:

Rustic Village HERE

Haven HERE

Journey HERE

Unique HERE

Although its NOT needed (since the book has a traceable Triangle-in-a-Square template in the back), I highly recommend purchasing our acrylic Triangle-in-a-Square Ruler HERE to streamline and speed up your cutting and construction!

Want to know the best aspect of these quilts turned table runners is?  They are ALL 10" Stacker Friendly!!!

Guess what?  Tranquility 10" Stackers are back in stock at Riley Blake Designs and available HERE!

Pretty exciting stuff, right?  I hope I've intrigued you enough to give it a try because I'm pretty confident you're going to love the designs and the easy to read and follow directions to be successful.  You won't be disappointed!

Is there a table runner in your immediate future?  I sure hope so!

  • I received the book of patterns earlier this week, but was disappointed that directions for the table runners were not included. Much as I stare at the directions in the book, I have a hard time figuring out where the table runners start and stop. If you can help, I’d be very pleased. Thank you!
