You're the BEST - Thank You! (Embroidery Survey Results)

Posted by Gerri Robinson on

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my survey questions last week regarding hand embroidery.

Several of the questions we were in sync with each other but there were a couple questions where the response was a pleasant surprise.  I am so glad I asked but even more thankful you answered; thank you!

Quick Side Note:  I wanted to share the 2 versions of each of the Blooming Baskets (machine embroidery in the upper left corner and hand embroidery at the bottom of the picture).  You cannot go wrong with either method!

Curious what the results are?  Below is a summary of answers:

98% hand embroider

64% like to trace their designs while 34% prefer an iron on design

44% didn't care for plastic templates while 41% preferred plastic templates to trace the design

61% have hand embroidery experience but would prefer to have a tutorial on how the stitches are done.  32% can look at a picture and know how to make the stitch

38% prefer detailed photos of the stitches while 33% prefer to watch a video on how to do the stitches and 19% like hand drawings

69% prefer to purchase individual patterns while 31% like to purchase sets

54% do not expect any project to be included with the embroidery pattern while 36% would expect a small project and 10% would expect a quilt pattern as part of the embroidery design.

80% would love to do a monthly stitch along while 20% prefer to work on their project at their own pace

Where do we go from here?  You've given me valuable feedback to think about as we strategize our next steps to bring you a high quality product that you've come to know Planted Seed Designs for.

Hand Embroidery will be coming to Planted Seed Designs!  I just don't have a concrete date of when but I'm very comfortable saying in 2020!!

Before I sign off today I wanted to update you on Serenity!  My new collection will be at the Riley Blake Designs warehouse later this month and then 10-14 days later we'll get our fabric! I can't wait to show you more of what I have for you with this new collection!

  • Hi Edi!
Yes! That’s what we’re currently working on and will be available sometime in 2020. We just want to make sure we introduce a product to our customers that is the same quality as our other products. Stay tuned here on the blog and in our newsletter. Gerri Robinson
