Missing Spring Market?  Not this Year!!!

As you may have heard, the traditional way we do Spring Market was cancelled but nothing stops quilters and designers from getting creative to bring you our newest and latest designs and creations!

We all know its all about the fabric, right?  You can't make a quilt or sew a garment or bag without starting with fabric so without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to Delightful!

It's May! You know what that means, right?

It's May!  You know what that means, right?

Tranquility is on its way!!!  It hasn't arrived in our Shop yet but it will in the coming weeks.  

Did you know Tranquility was a "direct" inspiration to create a similar but different collection than Charming?  You guys LOVED Charming and asked if I would design another collection similar but different and I'm hopeful you'll LOVE Tranquility just as much, if not more!

In fact, I wanted to create and share these side-by-side designs originally created in Charming (on the left) but RE-FRESHED in Tranquility to show you the similarities.

Guess what I learned this week!

Guess what I learned this week!

It's Week 4 of the Riley Blake Designs Classic Quilt Block Challenge and when I read it was the Economy Block I had to Google it to understand what it was because I had never heard of a block called this.

To my surprise, I was familiar with it but called it something completely different; a Square-in-a-Square block.  

So I got excited and grabbed my Tranquility prints and went to town because I knew this style of block would really highlight the prints beautifully.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever made a Friendship Star without doing it the traditional way like Bev of Flamingo Toes does here?

Would you believe me if I told you I don't recall ever making mine the "traditional" way as reflected in the photo below:

Although you can see the Friendship Star dancing across the rainbow, you can also see that it was created by the flying geese and quick angled rectangles that surround it creating the Friendship Star inside!
