MOD-ified Quilts

Posted by Gerri Robinson on

If you've been following along for a while, you may be familiar with my MOD-ified quilt designs. For those of you who are new, here is a review of this concept:

Q:  What is a MOD-ified Quilt Design?

A: To make partial or minor changes to something, typically to improve it or to make it less extreme.

In my case, the MOD-ified quilts were a very unexpected but pleasant surprise when I made a minor change to Rustic Village, Haven, Journey and Unique quilts (from my Rustic Romance book) by re-creating them in Riley Blake Confetti Cottons.  I took a traditional looking design and made it current with a simple MOD-ification; changing the floral fabrics to solids.

You will need the Rustic Romance book for the pattern to make each of these designs. We only provide the UPDATED Materials List and Cutting Directions. The construction of each design is found in the original pattern.

Today, I want to show you some of my favorite photos from a recent shoot that show how stunning these MOD-ified quilts are!

A word of caution . . . . this MOD-ified photo shoot was a little different than what you're used to seeing here.  My son, Josh, felt the quilts needed to match their "new" look so we hit the streets of downtown Phoenix and photographed our MOD-fied quilts with street art!  I simply LOVE the look of street art meets quilt art!  How about you?

I just love the fresh look using all solids on these quilts. Click HERE for all the details on these MOD-ified designs!

I have some new MOD-ified quilts coming later this summer that use some other RBD Basics! They aren't ready quite yet but I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek! Take a look at what's coming soon!

Aren't they beautiful?! Is there a Planted Seed Designs quilt pattern that you want to see MOD-ified? OR interested in a kit on any of the above?  Let me know in the comments!
