Did You See This?

Posted by Gerri Robinson on

I had a pleasant surprise arrive this past Monday from American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine . . . . . .

Yep - that's MY quilt on the COVER of APQ's magazine!!!!  I had no idea!  What an unexpected and wonderful surprise!

Just like the quilt's name, the sheer surprise and delight spun me around with glee!

It took my army of quilting friends though to make this quilt come to life and grace the cover of American Patchwork and Quilting magazine!

Lisa Garber, who I introduced you to here, pieced the quilt and Penny Barnes of @pbandjquiltstudio quilted and hand delivered it to the APQ offices.

As you may have guessed, I did not see the quilt until this past Monday when the quilt and magazine arrived - it was like Christmas at my house!

Spin Me Around will have you spinning too with (2) sizes of pinwheels that when you look a little closer, creates a secondary design . . . .

Do you see the pieced Friendship Star emerge?  I LOVE secondary designs - they keep your eyes moving across and around the quilt often making you wonder what design is primary and what design is secondary!

As you may have guessed, the entire quilt is made from the (16) Gem Stone Bright prints here on my favorite ground print - Confetti Cotton Cloud by Riley Blake Designs.

Isn't it sooo fun!  Do you want to know what's even more fun?  We're offering Spin Me Around Quilt Kits here! along with a gorgeous backing kit here in Gem Stones Bright Blizzard Blue!

Who wants to get "spun around"?

  • It is a beautiful quilt. I love patterns that make secondary patterns too.
